Apple might call its next iPhone SE the ‘iPhone SE Plus’ despite the device not receiving a display size increase
Rumor has it that Apple is working on a new iPhone SE that is expected to be announced during the first half of 2022. The device is said to keep its current 4.7-inch iPhone 8-style design, although a new insight from display analyst Ross Young on Thursday is suggesting that Apple may call the next model the “iPhone SE Plus” even though the screen size isn’t expected to increase.
As many people know, Apple has previously used the “Plus” moniker when offering a larger iPhone display option, for example, using “Plus” to signify the difference between the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 8, but never before has Apple used “Plus” in a device’s name without increasing the size of the display.
According to Young, next year’s iPhone SE will likely feature an LCD display with 5G support, which many other sources have also suggested, including Japanese site Mac Otakara, which most recently claimed the upcoming device will likely boast internal components from the iPhone 13, such as the A15 Bionic chip.
We now hear the next LCD iPhone will be introduced in 2022 and called the SE Plus with the same 4.7" LCD as the 8 along with 5G. We hear the iPhone SE3 with a 5.7" – 6.1" LCD is now pushed to 2024. https://t.co/9gxiAAk8Yi

Looking further into the future, Young suggests Apple is working on new 5.7-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone SE models, which may feature a punch-hole display design, similar to the Samsung Galaxy A71.
