Apple releases macOS Monterey with redesigned Safari, Shortcuts for the Mac, and more

Apple has released the next major software update for the Mac, macOS Monterey, introducing redesigned Safari, Shortcuts for the Mac, Focus mode, Quick Notes, and more.
macOS Monterey was first previewed in June at WWDC, with Apple describing the update as adding “new ways to connect with friends and family, work smarter across devices, and stay focused.”
Universal Control, a major new feature shown off when macOS Monterey was first announced, won’t be released with today’s update, with Apple holding the feature and saying it will be available in the fall with a future software release.
macOS Monterey is available now for free for the late 2015 iMac and later, 2017 iMac Pro and later, early 2015 MacBook Air and later, early 2015 MacBook Pro and later, late 2013 Mac pro and later, late 2014 Mac mini and later, and early 2016 MacBook and later.
