Apple confirms Apple Watch Series 7 pre-orders start this Friday
Apple has announced that pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 7 will begin this Friday on October 8, with in-store availability and deliveries beginning the week after on October 15.
Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 7 in September alongside the iPhone 13 and redesigned iPad mini. The new device features larger displays, new finishes, enhanced durability, faster charging, and more.
The Apple Watch Series 7 lacks the long-rumored flat-edge redesign multiple reports had suggested would be coming with this year’s iteration. Instead, the wearable has softer, more rounded corners with a 20% larger screen area compared to the Apple Watch Series 6.
Available in new 41mm and 45mm sizes, the Apple Watch Series 7 introduces five new aluminium case finishes including Midnight, Starlight, Green, and a new Blue and (PRODUCT)RED, along with a range of new band colours and styles.
Apple says the users of the new Apple Watch will benefit from the same all-day 18-hour battery life as the Apple Watch Series 6, now complemented by 33 percent faster charging. Like previous models, the Apple Watch Series 7 includes tools for health and wellness, including an electrical heart sensor and ECG app, and a Blood Oxygen sensor and app.
Apple touts that the Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch ever, with a stronger, more crack-resistant front crystal. It is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for resistance to dust, and maintains a WR50 water resistance rating.
Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399 (US) for the 41mm model.
