Siri no longer sends emails or checks call history
Siri gained a lot of upgrades with iOS 15, but users are also now seeing that it’s lost some functionality as well. Siri has now lost the ability to send out emails or check your call history.
MacRumors has noted that multiple commands that have worked in the past no longer function. These include the following:
- Send an email
- Send an email to [person]
- Do I have any voicemails?
- Play my voicemail messages
- Check my call history
- Check my recent calls
- Who called me?
The Apple Post has also confirmed this isn’t limited to just the latest iOS update. We tried on both an iPhone XR running iOS 14.8 as well as an iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 15 and Siri gave us the same “Sorry, I can’t help with that response.” Siri then recommends opening the appropriate app instead. These all seem like fairly useful commands so it’s unclear if this was an intentional move by Apple or something that will later be fixed with an update.
