Apple releases iOS 14.8 with security updates
As the release of iOS 15 nears, Apple has released iOS 14.8, bringing important security updates recommended for all users.
iOS 14.8 will likely be Apple’s last iOS 14 update before the public release of iOS 15, which is slated to arrive as soon as next week.
Alongside today’s release, Apple is also rolling out iPadOS 14.8, also bringing undisclosed security updates.
Unlike other releases, iOS 14.8 hasn’t undergone the usual developer beta testing period, instead rolling out directly to the public today.
Last month, iOS 14.8 was spotted in the Xcode developer beta, outing the software a month before release.
Update: Apple has also rolled out macOS Big Sur 11.6 and a watchOS 7.6.2 update for Series 3 and later.
