FCC filings out revised MagSafe Charger
Apple appears to be readying a revised MagSafe Charger for launch, with a recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing outing an updated version of the magnetic charger with the model number A2548.
The filing doesn’t reveal what’s new with the revised version, but Apple notes the charger has been tested with eight different iPhone models, including all four iPhone 12 models and “New Phone” units, which are likely the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Apple’s filing was spotted by Dave Katz on Monday, who shared his findings on Twitter.
The MagSafe Charger launched last year with the iPhone 12. The magnets on the charging puck attach to the back of the iPhone and provide wireless charging up to 15W.
