CAD renders supposedly show new design coming to Apple Watch Series 7
With the launch of Apple’s next-generation Apple Watch right around the corner, CAD renders shared by 91mobiles claim to offer an early look at the rumored new flat-edge design coming to this year’s new Apple Watch Series 7.
According to the site, which claims to have obtained renders from industry sources, the Apple Watch Series 7 will launch alongside the iPhone 13 in September, featuring a new design inspired by the the flat-edge look of the iPhone 12, iPad Pro and iPad Air.
The new design, described as “boxy,” will supposedly be available in the same 40mm and 44mm case sizes as the current-generation Apple Watch Series 6, but will benefit from lager displays thanks to thinner bezels. It is said that the 44mm Apple Watch Series 7, for example, will feature a 1.8-inch display, compared to the current 1.73 display on the Series 6.
The wearable is expected to get a faster processor, improved wireless connectivity and an updated screen, with Bloomberg reporting that Apple has several new health-related features in development, including a body temperature feature originally intended to launch this year, but such features have been held back for future models.
Leaker Jon Prosser has previously shared concepts showing what the Apple Watch Series 7 will probably look like. The leaker suggested at the time that Apple has been testing “experimental colors” for the Apple Watch, including a new green finish, similar to that seen with the latest iPad Air.
