Apple beginning mass production of redesigned MacBook Pro, report claims
Mass production is underway of Apple’s redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, according to Taiwanese supply chain news website DigiTimes, which claims suppliers are expected to ship 600,000-800,000 units during the period from August to November.
Expected to be announced between September and November, Apple’s two new MacBook Pro models are rumored to get a new “flat-edged” look with added I/O ports, a MagSafe charging port and new mini-LED displays, offering the same quality as OLED but with reduced power consumption.
The Eurasian Economic Commission updated its certification database last week showing model numbers A2442 and A2485 which are expected to be for the new machines.
No exact date has been revealed as of yet for when Apple will unveil its new MacBook Pro, but it will likely be announced alongside the rumored new 8.3-inch iPad mini, which is slated to get an all-screen display with an iPad Air-style redesign.
