Apple adds 2015 12-inch MacBook to ‘vintage’ list
Apple is now considering its 2015 12-inch MacBook as a vintage product, with the machine being added to the official vintage and obsolete products list online.
Products are considered vintage when Apple has stopped distributing them for sale more than 5 but less than 7 years ago. After that, products are considered obsolete, where Apple discontinues all hardware service, with the exception of Mac notebooks that are eligible for an additional battery-only repair period.
As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple on Wednesday added the 2015 12-inch MacBook to the vintage product graveyard after the standalone MacBook was scrapped in 2019 in favour of the MacBook Air, which had a lower base price, additional USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports, and better performance.
