iPhone 13 dummies show rumored smaller notch and diagonal camera layout
As this year’s new iPhone season inches ever closer and rumors begin to paint a picture of what to expect from Apple’s big announcement in September, leaker DuanRui has shared dummies from Chineses site Weibo that claim to offer a glimpse at the design of the iPhone 13.
Rumors are pointing to Apple shrinking the size of the TrueDepth camera and sensor system, commonly referred to as the notch, for the very first time with this year’s iPhone iteration, supposedly relocating the ear speaker into the device’s top bezel, allowing for the overall width of the notch to be shortened for the first time.
It is also claimed that this year, Apple’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini successors will have an updated camera layout, with the two devices featuring a diagonal camera arrangement, similar to that visualized earlier this year in renders shared online.
Today’s new dummies corroborate the rumors we’ve seen so far, showing how the diagonal camera layout could look like on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, as well as how much Apple may reduce the TrueDepth camera and sensor system to increase screen real estate on the next-generation model.
