Apple exploring new iPad models with larger screens, Bloomberg reports
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has claimed Apple is considering new iPad designs with larger screens, suggesting future models may outsize the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
In this week’s “Power On” newsletter, Gurman says he has been told engineers are exploring new designs that could arrive “a couple of years down the road at the earliest.” He says while the designs are still in the planning phase, the move strengthen the increasingly tight link between the MacBook and iPad line.
Gurman claimed earlier this month in a separate report that Apple is testing bringing wireless charging to the iPad, with next year’s iPad Pro release expected to feature a glass back to enable wireless charging for the first time to the device, with a new iPad mini rumored to be launching before the end of the year.
