Kia customers to get free Apple Watch when purchasing EV6 electric cars
South Korean car manufacturer Kia is running a special promotion that rewards the first 1,500 customers who purchase its 2022 EV6 First Edition electric vehicle a free Apple Watch.
As reported by CNET, customers will be able to choose from either a complimentary Apple Watch to help new EV6 owners access the Kia Connect services that are bundled with the vehicle, EV charging credits, or an at-home EV charger.
The new Kia EV6 is the company’s first dedicated electric vehicle, featuring Ultra Fast Charging that charges for 60 miles in 4.5 minutes, 0-60mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds, and a preliminary development target of 316 miles in range.
Kia hasn’t specifically mentioned which model of Apple Watch will be given to eligible customers.
Reports had suggested Apple was turning to Kia to help produce its long-rumored Apple Car autonomous vehicle, with the company itself confirming it was in talks with Apple over the top-secret project. Needless to say, Kia’s loose lips seemingly tarnished the new relationship, with Apple pulling out of the partnership estimated to have cost the South Korean company $3.6 billion.
