Twitter supposedly relaunching public verification program next week
Twitter is supposedly relaunching its public verification program next week, giving users the ability to request the coveted blue badge through a new self-serve application process in the Account Settings page on the web and in-app.
According to researcher Jane Manchum Wong, who shared screenshots of the new application process last week, “multiple sources” have claimed Twitter is planning to bring back the ability to request a blue badge next week.
Twitter announced its plans to bring back public account verification requests late last year, saying it would begin accepting requests for notable accounts that belong to government officials; companies, brands and nonprofit organizations; news; entertainment; sports; and activists, organizers and other influential individuals.

Twitter themselves haven’t confirmed whether or not the application process will ineed reappear next week, simply stating online that users will be able to request to have their account reviewed at some point in 2021.
