Apple TV may soon launch in China
Apple may soon release its Apple TV set-top-box in China, with the hardware recently receiving regulatory approval from the State Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film, and Television.
According to leaker Voooolks on Weibo, first reported by Sina, Apple has now been given the approval it needs to release the Apple TV as soon as it pleases.
Apple announced its latest Apple TV last week, featuring an A12 Bionic chip that provides a significant boost in graphics performance, video decoding, and audio processing.
With A12 Bionic, Apple TV 4K now supports high frame rate HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Dolby Vision video, enabling fast-moving action at 60 frames per second (fps) to play more smoothly and appear more lifelike.
Apple is yet to make any official announcement about the Apple TV expanding into China, but it looks as if the expansion is now a matter of “when” rather than “if”.
