AirTag pre-order statuses begin changing to ‘Preparing to Ship’
Ahead of the official release of Apple’s new purple-colored iPhone 12 and long-awaited AirTag trackers on Friday, customers who pre-ordered the new devices last week are now beginning to see their pre-order statuses begin changing from “processing” to “preparing to ship” on Apple’s website and the Apple Store app.
Apple announced the new iPhone and AirTags last Tuesday at its “Spring Loaded” special event, which also saw the introduction of an all-new iMac, updated iPad Pro, and next-generation Apple TV, which will be available to pre-order this Friday before releasing officially in the second half of May.
Sold individually at $29 or in a pack of four for $99, AirTags are Apple’s new tracking accessory that integrates with the Find My app to allow users to track items such as handbags, keys, backpacks, or other items from their iPhone.
Along with the AirTags, Apple has introduced a range of new accessories, including exclusive loops and luggage tags from French designer label Hermès, which are also now beginning to change to “preparing to ship,” depending on the delivery estimates given at the time of purchase.
Coinciding with deliveries on Friday, the new devices and accessories will be available for in-store pickup from April 30.
