Apple announces a new M1 powered iPad Pro with 5G and more
iPad Pro joins the Mac in sporting a new M1 chip. The design is unchanged, however the performance of tasks such as graphics, power efficiency and more are greatly improved. It is 50% faster than the previous iPad Pro. It is 75% faster than the first iPad. The graphics are 1500% faster than the first iPad (wow!), giving a great boost alongside the pro-motion display.
2x fast storage access, and a new 2TB option give more options to pro users. Thunderbolt connectivity has been added to the existing USB-C connector.
For the very first time the iPad Pro now has 5G connectivity.
New cameras give better no-light images, and more improved AR capabilities with the LiDAR sensor. The TrueDepth camera system has been upgraded with a new Ultra Wide camera. Centre Stage, a new feature that keeps you at the centre of the picture, and also includes others who may enter or be within the frame, automatically zooming in and out to place them in the centre of the frame also.
The new Liquid Retina XDR gives the iPad Pro a brand new, much improved display, similar to the Pro Display XDR. Dolby Vision, Dolby atmos and more are all supported on the new iPad Pro thanks to the new XDR display.
The Magic Keyboard has a new white option alongside the existing space grey option.
It starts at $799 for the 11 inch and $1099 for the 12.9 inch model. They will be available to order from April 30th.
