Apple was founded 45 years ago today
Apple was founded 45 years ago today on April 1, 1976, when Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayn officially signed the documents to form the Apple Computer Company.
Apple, now worth over $2 trillion, making it the most valuable company in the world, was started from Steve Jobs’ Parents’ Garage in Los Altos, where Jobs and Steve Wozniak put together the boards of their first computer, the Apple I, that year.
Co-founder Ronald Wayn sold his 10% stake in Apple just days after the company was founded, receiving a $800 payout for his share, which today would be worth tens of billions of dollars.
As Apple celebrates 45 years today, I’m reminded of Steve’s words from many years ago: “It’s been an amazing journey so far, yet we have barely begun.” Thanks to every member of our Apple family for all you’ve done to enrich lives. Here’s to the next 45 years & beyond!
