Apple launches repair program for Apple Watch Series 5 and SE models with charging issues
Apple has launched a new repair program for owners of the Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE after “a very small number of customers” are encountering issues that cause the wearables to fail to charge after entering Power Reserve mode.
Apple rolled out watchOS 7.3.1 on Monday, addressing the power Reserve issues with the two models with the aim of preventing it from happening in the future. However, for users already facing problems caused by Power Reserve mode, Apple is now offering free repairs to rectify the issue.
First spotted by MacRumors, Apple says to check if your Apple Watch is affected by this issue, place your watch on the charger that you normally use, then wait at least 30 minutes. If your Apple Watch still won’t charge, contact Apple Support to set up a mail-in repair free of charge so the wearable can be examined.
