Apple releases iOS 14.4 update for iPhone
Apple has released iOS 14.4 today, bringing bug fixes and several new features to the iPhone including, the ability for smaller QR codes to be recognized by the Camera app, notifications when non-genuine camera parts are fitted by a third-party to an iPhone 12, and more.
The update isn’t as feature-packed as some previous iOS updates, but today’s installment does address a handful of bugs including, issues where the Fitness widget may not display updated Activity data, typing may be delayed and word suggestions may not appear in the keyboard, image artifacts could appear in HDR photos taken with iPhone 12 Pro, the keyboard may not come up in the correct language in Messages, audio stories from the News app in CarPlay may not resume after being paused for spoken directions or Siri, and enabling Switch Control in Accessibility may prevent phone calls from being answered from the Lock Screen.
iOS 14.4 is available now through the Settings app on iPhone.
The update is releasing alongside watchOS 7.3 which includes a new Unity watch face, the ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 or later in Japan, Mayotte, Philippines, and Thailand, Irregular heart rhythm notifications in Japan, Mayotte, Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand, and a fix for an issue where Control Center and Notification Center may be unresponsive when Zoom is enabled.
