Apple rumored to release new AirPods Pro and iPhone SE in April
Japanese blog Mac Otakara has published a report citing Chinese suppliers claiming that Apple may release new AirPods Pro and a new iPhone SE in April, suggesting the new AirPods will feature a redesigned charging case.
Rumors have recently pointed to Apple working on updates to its AirPods line, with insiders frequently mentioning new “AirPods Pro Lite” that are expected to feature the same design as the current-generation AirPods Pro, just without the active noise cancellation technology.
The site says the charging case for the new 2021 AirPods Pro will measure 21mm thick, 46mm tall, and 54mm wide, making the case slightly smaller than the current version.
Mac Otakara say a new iPhone SE is also on the cards for April. Rumors have suggested Apple will introduce a Plus version of the iPhone SE, which would measure in at the same size as the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus. Apple launched the current-generation iPhone SE last April, featuring a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID Home button, A13 Bionic chip, and up to 256GB of storage from $399.
It is likely that this year’s iPhone SE will keep the same overall design as the current model, which is based on the iPhone 8, retaining a Touch ID Home button over Face ID and not supporting 5G like the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. Several reports have pointed to a new iPhone SE being in the pipeline, all of which hint the “iPhone SE Plus” could be next to launch.
