Apple hosting virtual shareholders meeting on February 23 from Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park
Apple will host its annual shareholders meeting on February 23, 2021 from the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park.
Unlike previous years, the meeting will be held online, with Apple saying the move is to “provide a safe experience for our shareholders and employees” amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has left large numbers of Apple’s corporate employees working remotely, and many of its retail stores closed across the world.
Confirmed with a proxy statement today spotted by 9to5Mac, Apple says those who want to attend, vote, and submit questions during the annual meeting can do so via proxyvote.com, as long as they have held APPL shares before December 28, 2020.
The meeting will discuss re-electing the Board of Directors, voting on shareholder proposals, and other corporate functions.
Apple says for the first time since he was promoted to the CEO role in 2011, Tim Cook will receive a long-term equity award in his 2021 compensation. “For the first time since he was promoted to the CEO role in 2011, Mr. Cook’s 2021 compensation will include a long-term equity award. This award will better align the structure of his time-based and performance-based equity incentives with the awards of our other named executive officers.”
