ecobee SmartCamera gains support for HomeKit Secure Video

Home automation brand ecobee has brought HomeKit Secure Video support to its SmartCamera with its latest firmware update, allowing users to store recorded video in iCloud with Face Recognition and Activity Zone capabilities.
HomeKit Secure Video allows for 10-days worth of recorded video to be stored securely in iCloud for anyone with a 200GB storage plan, priced at $2.99 per month, despite the file size of the recorded video is not deducted from a user’s available storage.
As well as the video recording features, HomeKit Secure Video support allows users to view their camera through the Home app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as well as A.I. image analysis for filtered notifications, Face Recognition, and the ability to create Activity Zones, by establishing boundaries on your camera’s view.
The ecobee SmartCamera offers all the features you would expect from a product of its type, such as two-way talk, night vision, and person detection, in addition to a 180 field of view plus auto pan and zoom.
The camera is priced at $179.99 and available from ecobee.com.
