Apple Store down ahead of iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max pre-orders
Apple’s online store and Apple Store app are down in preparation for a start to iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max pre-orders later today, which begin at 5 a.m. PDT/1.00 pm BST.
Today’s pre-orders follow after the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro launched to customers late last month. Alongside pre-orders for the new iPhone models today, Apple will also begin accepting orders for the new $99 HomePod mini, which will release beginning the week of November 16.
Apple unveiled the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max last month at its “Hi, Speed” special event. The new devices both boast a flat-edged design with 5G support and a range of new color finishes. The iPhone 12 mini starts at $699, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1099.
Due to lockdown restrictions in England, Apple has advised customers in the country who wish to either enroll or re-enroll in the iPhone Upgrade Program that this will not be possible until at least early December when the restrictions are set to be lifted. Customers can choose to pick-up their pre-ordered iPhone during the lockdown, but this option will only be available to those purchasing the device outright or through the 24 month 0% interest financing agreement.
