How to fix ‘Unfortunately, You Can’t Run This App’ error in the NHS COVID-19 contact-tracing app
Users are reporting issues with the NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app when upgrading to a new iPhone, with an error message saying ‘Unfortunately, You Can’t Run This App,’ leaving the app unusable. Thankfully, a quick fix is available.
The error appears to be caused when users are transferring apps from their old iPhone using iCloud Backup to their new device, resulting in a message which says “Unfortunately, you can’t run this app. This could be due to: A restriction in your settings (for example, if this is a company phone [or] another app on your phone is using the same technology and stopping this app from working.”
Deleting the app and reinstalling it on the new iPhone is an easy fix, but it is advised against as by doing so, the app removes all the data it had collected, such as venues that users had checked in to, so this should only be done as a last resort.
How to fix the ‘Unfortunately, You Can’t Run This App’ error in the NHS COVID-19 contact-tracing app
