Apple testing all-new Maps experience in Canada
Apple has started to publicly test its enhanced Maps experience in Canada, according to Justin O’Beirne.
O’Beirne, who reported on the recent launch of the all-new Maps app in the United Kingdom after Apple completed its full US rollout earlier this year, says testing the public commenced on Monday, October 19th, with a public launch expected before the end of the year.
Apple’s Canadian Apple Maps expansion will be the largest to date, covering over 3,850 square miles, and will mark the fourth country to receive the Maps upgrade, which brings better road coverage and pedestrian data, more precise addresses, and detailed land cover.
O’Beirne says Apple has previously spent between 16 and 49 days publicly testing its previous expectations, with showing various comparisons between the current map and the new map online at justinobeirne.com.
