AirPods Studio production hits issues, AirTags could come next month, claims Jon Prosser
Leaker Jon Prosser has shared revised information surrounding Apple’s long-rumored AirPods Studio over-ear headphones and new AirTags item trackers, claiming a few key features have now been cut from AirPods Studio, and that AirTags are on schedule to be released with iOS 14.3, expected next month.
Prosser previously suggested AirTags had been pushed back until March 2021, though the leaker now claims Apple has held a “very important internal meeting” regarding product timelines, suggesting the release of AirTags now depends on when Apple feels is an appropriate time to launch the new product, opposed to waiting for production to complete.
iOS 14.3 is said to support AirTags, and is expected as soon as November, which may suggest AirTags could debut alongside new ARM Mac models at a third end-of-year special event.
Unlike AirPods Studio, AirTags are and have been done & ready. It’s not even about production timelines for this product, at this point.
It basically comes down to when Apple *feels* it’s the right time to put them out.

Prosser says Apple has hit a “major hiccup in AirPods Studio production” resulting in “a few key features [having been] cut. ” In a tweet, Prosser says “Seems they still need to work some things out before we have final units. Looking like they won’t be ready to ship until December AT BEST. Technically, this means that (if everything goes smoothly and no further issues arise) they could still announce in November and ship in December.”

But it’s also just as likely that B515 (AirPods Studio) don’t see release until March 2021.
I’ll do my best to keep you updated.

Leaked images offered our first glimpse at the new Beats-style headphones last month, allegedly showing the ‘Sport’ variant of the upcoming AirPods, which have supposedly been designed with “fitness-focused” materials to be worn comfortably during workouts.
