Apple to price ‘HomePod mini’ at $99, launching in November
Chinese Weibo leaker “Kang,” who earlier today shared alleged iPhone 12 specs, release dates, pricing, and more, has claimed Apple’s rumored new HomePod mini will be priced at $99, and will launch in November.
First spotted by MacRumors, Twitter user Ice Universe, has shared the HomePod insight leaked by “Kang,” which claims the upcoming mini HomePod will supposedly be powered by Apple’s S5 processor and be 3.3-inches tall, compared to the original HomePod which is 6.8-inches high.
The speaker will allegedly be available on November 16-17, around the same time “Kang” claimed Apple would begin accepting pre-orders for the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Apple’s smaller HomePod, which was originally expected at next week’s “Hi, Speed” iPhone 12 event, is said to have been created to directly compete with Amazon Echo and Google Home. The speaker will likely have less internal components than the current-generation HomePod which will allow Apple to bring down the price.
