Apple adding new built-in Shazam music recognition toggle in Control Center with iOS 14.2
Apple seeded the first iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 developer betas on Thursday, and included within the new updates is a built-in Shazam music recognition toggle in Control Center, which allows users to quickly identify music playing around them or inside apps, with the option to listen fully in Apple Music.
Apple acquired Shazam in 2017 in a deal reportedly worth $400 million. Since taking over the service, Apple has baked Shazam into Siri, with iOS 14.2’s music recognition toggle taking the iOS integration even further with deeper listening capabilities.
