Apple’s rumored new iPhone 12 braided lightning cable shown in images
Leaker @L0vetodream has shared images on Twitter showing the rumored new braided Lightning to USB-C cable expected to ship with this year’s new iPhone 12 line, showing both white and black versions of the accessory.
@L0vetodream shared a set of images at the beginning of the month showing the new charging cable, with today’s images offering an even closer look at the woven design of the new wire.
Braided charging cables are a popular design amongst third-party accessory makers. They typically are more durable than Apple’s own Lightning cables due to the woven exterior that helps prevent tearing and fraying from everyday use.
The images follow after rumors claim a new 20-watt USB-C power adapter will be made available for customers to purchase for fast charging, an improvement over the 18-watt power adapter that ships with the iPhone 11 Pro and the significantly less powerful 5-watt charger bundled with the iPhone 11.

Rumors claim Apple won’t include either a power adapter or wired headphones in the box of the iPhone 12, making the new braided Lightning to USB-C cable the only accessory available out of the box.
