iPhone 12 to come with braided Lightning to USB-C cable, claims leaker

Apple will release a new braided Lightning to USB-C cable later this year, according to a leaker who shared images on Twitter of the alleged new wire, suggesting it will come bundled in the box of this year’s new iPhone 12 models.
Reliable leaker @L0vetodream retweeted images of the new accessory, showing various angles of the white braided charging cable. If true, the images would confirm that Apple will keep the Lightning port on the iPhone 12 for at least one more year, dismissing rumors that it may be swapped in favor of USB-C.
Braided charging cables are a popular design amongst third-party accessory makers. They typically are more durable than Apple’s own Lightning cables due to the woven exterior that helps prevent tearing and fraying from everyday use.

The images follow after rumors claim a new 20-watt USB-C power adapter will be made available for customers to purchase for fast charging, an improvement over the 18-watt power adapter that ships with the iPhone 11 Pro and the significantly less powerful 5-watt charger bundled with the iPhone 11.
Rumors claim Apple won’t include either a power adapter or wired headphones in the box of the iPhone 12, making the new braided Lightning to USB-C cable the only accessory available out of the box.
