Apple Store app adds new ‘Shop With a Specialist’ appointment option
Apple has added a new “Shop with a Specialist” option to the Apple Store app, allowing customers to book an in-store appointment with a Specialist, similar to Genius Bar appointments, to discuss purchasing new products, from iPhones and iPads to Apple Watch, Mac and accessories.
15 to 30 minute appointments are available, with customers able to book up to three days ahead of their visit. Customers can also book in-store Specialist appointments online at Apple.com.
The new appointment feature arrives at a time when Apple is limiting its store occupancy as part of a much wider COVID-19 response. Booking an appointment allows customers to skip any lines outside the store to ensure they are seen to without having to wait, and also allows Apple to better manage the traffic it has through its doors.
Upon booking an appointment, Apple advises visitors will be subject to a temperature check and will be asked to wear a face covering.
