Netatmo adds siren to its HomeKit Smart Outdoor Camera

Smart home brand Netatmo has released an update to its HomeKit Smart Outdoor Camera, adding a built-in “deafening” siren to the device that can be triggered remotely through the Netatmo app.
Netatmo released the Smart Outdoor Camera originally in 2016, featuring an integrated outdoor light. The camera allows users to record 1080p video to a microSD card or a Dropbox account and offers real-time notifications when the camera detects movement on the property it is monitoring.
The key selling point of the updated model, available to pre-order now in Europe on netatmo.com for just under $300, is the addition of the 105-dB alarm to deter intruders, but the camera as a whole offers some other attractive features, including the ability to detect people, cars, animals, no subscription fees and easy installation.
The camera will be launching to customers in the United States later this year.
