AirPods 3 launching in 2021, featuring similar design to AirPods Pro
Apple will release its next-generation AirPods, dubbed “AirPods 3”, during the first half of 2021, featuring a design “similar to AirPods Pro”, according to reliable TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Within a new research note shared with investors, via 9to5Mac, Kuo suggests Apple will continue to push the current-generation AirPods, released in March 2019, throughout the remainder of the year, with the wireless earbuds set to be discontinued in 2021 when the new “AirPods 3” are released.
Kuo doesn’t speculate on any of the new features destined to arrive with the new AirPods, but he does back earlier claims from Taiwanese publication DigiTimes who previously claimed Apple will redesign the entry-level AirPods to match the design of its high-end noise cancelling AirPods Pro, with a separate report claiming that following the release of the “AirPods 3”, Apple will unveil an upgraded “AirPods Pro 2” in 2022.
