Apple to launch new Activity Challenge for World Environment Day
Apple will launch a new Apple Watch Activity Challenge for World Environment Day on June 5, encouraging users to fill their Stand exercise ring by getting up and moving around for at least one minute during 12 hours that day.
Like similar Apple Watch Activity Challenges, those who successfully complete the competition will be rewarded with iMessage stickers and a reward in the Activity app on iOS.
Apple is yet to officially announce the challenge, but 9to5Mac have shared the wording which will be sent to users ahead of time to promote the day-long event.
Stand up for the planet on World Environment Day. Close your Stand ring on June 5 and earn this award by getting up and moving around for at least one minute during 12 hours that day.
Unlike previous years Apple held off from hosting an Earth Day challenge last month, likely to stop people from heading outside amid the widespread coronavirus. The last challenge was held in February for ‘Heart Month’, rewarding users who closed their Exercise ring for seven days in a row with similar virtual prizes.
