Apple to call new over-ear headphones ‘AirPods Studio’, priced at $349
Apple’s long-rumored new over-ear headphones are expected to be called “AirPods Studio”, priced at $349, according to leaker Jon Prosser.
Reports have long suggested Apple is developing a pair of Beats-style over-ear headphones, which Prosser claims have the internal codename “B515”. The wireless headphones are said to be a direct competitor to high-end noise-canceling over-ear headphones from the likes of Sony, with rumors claiming they may have interchangeable components, similar to the various bands available for the Apple Watch.
The headphones were first rumored in early 2018, with leading Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently suggesting that the products would enter mass-production in mid-2020 ahead of an official launch towards the end of the year, likely in September or October.
Looks like Apple is sticking with the “AirPods” branding for their new over-ear headphones.

Prosser has a short but accurate track record of reporting on Apple’s product pipeline. He correctly reported the launch of the new low-cost iPhone SE in April, and the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro that got unveiled last week.
