Apple reopening 21 Apple Stores in Australia this week
Apple will reopen all but one of its retail stores in Australia this week on reduced hours, with Apple Sydney being the only location in the country to remain closed as it undergoes refurbishment.
The reopening follows after Apple Kärntner Straße in Vienna, Austria reopened to customers this morning, marking Apple’s second retail store outside of Greater China to reopen following the mass closure of its stores in March.
Like Apple Kärntner Straße, Apple’s stores in Australia will likely require some customers to wait outside prior to being allowed into the store to limit the number of people inside at one time, and that protective masks should be used while shopping.
Reopening plans for other Apple retail locations are yet to be confirmed, but it is understood Apple will evaluate the reopening of each store on a city by city, country by country basis. Deidre O’Brien, Apple’s vice president of retail and people, announced to employees that “many more” of its retail stores will reopen in May.
