Apple has shipped 7.5 million face shields worldwide
Apple announced at the beginning of the month that it has designed and started producing custom face shields which it will ship to medical professionals worldwide.
Within an update today, Apple CEO Tim Cook has revealed that a total of 7.5 million face shields have since been distributed across the globe, in addition to the 20 million masks which Apple has been able to source through its supply chain.
The masks are just one part of Apple’s contribution to assist with the fight against COVID-19. The company has been making substantial donations to charities globally, as well as matching employee donations and releasing new exposure notification APIs that will allow developers to build COVID-19 tracing apps.
