Tim Cook announces on FaceTime to Lady Gaga that Apple is donating $10m to ‘One World: Together at Home’
Tim Cook has announced during a FaceTime call with Lady Gaga on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Apple is donating $10 million to ‘One World: Together at Home’ benefit, a COVID-19 fundraiser by Global Citizen and the World Health Organization.
The One World: Together at Home concert will see stars performing from their homes. During the show, which Apple, alongside Amazon, FaceBook, YouTube, and more will air, is set to air on Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time/8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
During the pre-recorded segment aired on YouTube, Gaga pulled out her iPhone and said “I think we should call Tim Cook […] I don’t know if he knows he’s going to be on TV just yet, but we’re going to FaceTime him and find out.”
Cook is seen in his home office, from where he has shared videos recently with update’s on Apple’s efforts to assist the health community during the outbreak, says Apple is “so proud” to be part of the benefit, with Gaga jokingly saying she will call her next single “Tim Cook” as a token of her appreciation.
