Apple keeping U.S. Apple Stores closed until early May
Apple has informed employees that its stores across the United States will remain closed until early May.
According to a leaked internal memo from retail chief Deirdre O’Brien, shared by Bloomberg, Apple is “continuing to monitor local conditions for every Apple facility on a daily basis” and that reopening decisions will be made on after “thorough, thoughtful reviews and the latest guidance from local governments and public health experts.”
Employees are advised to stay at home until then, and The Apple Post reported earlier this week how Apple is trying to reassign home-stricken employees to take on sales and support roles from home, with 27-inch iMacs being sent to those who choose to take on additional roles until stores return to normal.
At this time, there is no update as to when the rest of Apple’s retail stores will begin reopening. Currently, all 464 Apple Stores outside of Greater China are closed, with employees at Apple’s various corporate offices also working from home.
