Apple’s iPhone case supplier to begin making medical supplies, like face masks
Nomad, Apple’s accessory supplier responsible for the production of iPhone cases, cables, and chargers will soon begin production of medical supplies, like face masks, to help fight against the coronavirus.
Within an announcement today, the company shared that it will begin working immediately on the supplies on a nonprofit basis, shipping the products to organizations and institutions around the world which require them.
The move comes amid a global shortage of medical supplies. Nomad say they have the robust supply chain which means they can cope with taking on the additional workload.
Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, the medical supply chain for critical supplies has been pushed beyond capacity. In response to sudden and unprecedented need, Nomad has reprioritized our operations to provide medical supplies, like face masks, to those fighting this pandemic. We’re beginning to take orders today. Any profit from this operation will be donated to fight against COVID-19.
Nomad is opening up a donations page online that allows the public to fund the production of the supplies, with a $5 contribution producing 12 masks.
- $5 donation = 12 masks
- $10 donation = 25 masks
- $15 donation = 37 masks
- $20 donation = 50 masks
