Apple testing new iMessage features such as mentions and sent message deletion
Apple is supposedly working on several new features for Messages, including mentions for group conversations and the ability to delete iMessages after they are sent, according to MacRumors.
The report, which says the new features may arrive as soon as with iOS 14, expected to be previewed in June, claims Apple may begin showing typing indicators in group chats, the ability to retract a message after it has been sent, @ tagging in conversations, and more.
The ability to delete iMessages after they are sent has been hot on the wish-list of many. It is unclear if there will be a time limit on retracting messages, but any message which has been deleted will be removed from the thread, with a small fine print visible to both the sender and recipients showing under a blank message bubble for the deleted message.
Additionally, the report claims Apple may add the ability to mark iMessages as unread.
