Sketchy video claims to show ‘iPhone 9’ with iPhone 4-style design
A sketchy video has been shared on TikTok claiming to show Apple’s forthcoming low-cost “iPhone 9” AKA “iPhone SE 2”, featuring thick top and bottom bezels, a Touch ID Home button and a mint green finish, notably with an iPhone 4-style design.
The new low-cost model is said to feature the chassis of the iPhone 8, unlike what is shown in the alleged leaked model, supposedly originating from within Apple’s supply chain.
It would appear the video is showing a clone device running a skinned version of Android, or an iPhone 8 with a custom housing based on earlier reports that the next-generation iPhone 12 may look similar to the iPhone 4, with sources at the time claiming 2020 would see iPhone design change “significantly”.
We’re finding it hard to believe this video actually shows the supposed “iPhone 9”, so we recommend taking it with caution.
Rumors suggest Apple may host an event on Tuesday, March 31 to officially announce its low-cost iPhone, with the device likely to be released on Friday, April 3.
