iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro include new capabilities to reduce battery ageing
Apple’s newly released iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max include new performance management capabilities that help reduce the impact ageing batteries have to provide the “best possible performance as battery aging occurs over time.”
As discovered by 9to5Mac, Apple touts within a support document shared online that the new iPhone models dynamically monitor the performance of batteries in real time, offering “more advanced” performance and power management systems than included with older iPhone models.
The support document reiterates that as with all rechargeable batteries, the lithium-ion batteries inside the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have a limited lifespan and eventually their capacity and performance will begin to decline, causing them to run out of charge quicker than compared to when they were new.
iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max power needs are dynamically monitored, and performance is managed so that it can address these needs in real time. The system is more advanced than previous iPhone battery and power management systems and allows your iPhone to reduce performance impacts from battery aging.
The new hardware and software in the latest-generation iPhone models will work to reduce the lesser performance known to occur as health degrades over time, including longer app launch times, poorer cellular data, reduced speaker volume and screen brightness.
