Apple to release new Smart Battery Cases for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, according to iOS 13 code
Apple is readying new Smart Battery Cases for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, according to iOS 13 code discovered by 9to5Mac that shows case model numbers A2180, A2183, and A2184, believed to represent Smart Battery Cases for the newly introduced iPhone lineup.
Improved battery life is heavily touted by Apple for both the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro range, with the iPhone 11 Pro said to offer 4 more hours of battery life than the iPhone XS, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max offering 5 hours more battery life than the iPhone XS Max.
For its previous-generation iPhone XS Max, Apple claimed using a Smart Battery Case would add 37 hours of talk time, 20 hours of internet, and 25 hours of video playback, on-top of the battery power from the iPhone itself.
The range of Smart Battery Cases for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max all feature Qi charging support, allowing users to recharge the battery case by placing it on any wireless charging pad, priced at $129.
We will likely see Apple introduce the new battery cases before the end of the year, possibly in October when the company is expected to host an event to announce its all-new 16-inch MacBook Pro and updated iPad Pro with an iPhone 11 Pro-style triple-lens camera system.
