Apple bundling 18W USB-C charger featuring folding pins with iPhone 11 Pro in United Kingdom
Apple is finally bundling the accessories needed to take advantage of fast charging right out of the box of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, by packaging an 18W USB-C power adapter and USB‑C to Lightning Cable.
In the United Kingdom, Apple’s 18W USB-C charger features folding pins, allowing for the charger too easily be compressed to reduce its size in almost half.
Apple first debuted its foldable wall charging pins with the original “Series 0” Apple Watch in the United Kingdom in 2015, but until now, all iPhone models have continued to use the conventional 5W wall charger with solid pins, and so do the newly released lower-cost iPhone 11 models.
The 18W USB-C charger is Apple’s only foldable fast charger, with all other plugs using the solid three metal pins. Apple first began selling the standalone 18W USB-C power adapter introduced originally with the Face ID-equipped iPad Pro models in late 2018.
Fast charging allows iPhone users to charge their device by 50% in 30 minutes.
