Apple Watch Series 5: Always-on display, built-in compass, and more
Apple has announced the next-generation Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series 5.
Taking to the stage of the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park on Tuesday, Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Series 5, featuring a new always-on Retina display that allows watch wearers to check the time and view Apple Watch complications without needing to raise their wrist, in addition to adding a built-in compass and new casing options, including never before seen titanium, brushed silver and brushed space black finishes.
Apple Watch Series 5 continues to offer the same 18-hour battery life found in the previous-generation Apple Watch Series 4, despite the always-on Retina display. – During the keynote, Apple touted that the aluminum casings for the Apple Watch Series 5 are manufactured from 100% recycled materials.
Apple Watch Series 5 offers customers 32GB of storage for music, photos, apps, and more, an increase of 50 percent compared to the previous-generation Apple Watch Series 4.
Pricing for the new Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $399 for the GPS model and $499 for the cellular connected version. It’s available for order starting today and will be in stores starting on September 20th.
