Apple to finally include fast charger in the box of new 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone models
Apple is expected to finally allow users to take advantage of fast charging right out of the box, by packaging an 18W power adapter equipped with a USB-C connector with all new 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone models, according to Ming-Chi Kuo.
Within a final report sharing is expectations for the soon-to-be-announced iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, Kuo said Apple will give customers everything they need to quickly charge their iPhone using a Lightning to USB-C cable paired with an 18W power brick, meaning a 30 minute plug-in could charge an iPhone by 50%
Fast charging has been compatible with each iPhone since the iPhone 8 but has required customers to purchase a standalone 18W USB-C power adapter and Lightning to USB-C cable, costing $48.
Kuo claims the lower-cost iPhone XR successor, rumored to be called the iPhone 11, will continue to ship with the standard 5W USB-A charger that is included with all current iPhone models as standard.
