Signify announces new HomeKit-compatible Philips Hue Smart Plug and new Philips Hue Smart Button

Signify, the company behind the Philips Hue line of smart home products has announced two new must haves – the Philips Hue Smart Plug and Philips Hue Smart Button.
Following in the footsteps of many other smart home manufactures, the new Philips Hue Smart Plug turns “any table or floor lamp” into a Hue smart light, with users able to plug the smart plug into any electrical socket, and then plug a product into the smart plug unit itself to switch it on or off using the Hue app or voice assistants such as Siri. Additionally, the plug can be controlled through the Home app on iOS and macOS.
Next up, the Philips Hue Smart Button. This small accessory allows users to press and hold the button to brighten and dim your connected Phillips Hue lights, and to create custom commands through the Hue app.
In a single press, you can control your Hue lights however you like, or press and hold the button to brighten and dim your lights. When connected to the Philips Hue bridge, you can configure the button, so it turns your lights to a pre- set shade of white light and brightness level that suits the time of day; in the morning, one press will turn your lights to cool, energizing tones, and in the evening, one press will trigger warmer, dimmer light settings.
The two new products will be released in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and New Zealand in October, with the exception of Italy and Switzerland who won’t receive the Philips Hue Smart Plug. The button will be priced at $19.99, while the smart plug will be available for $39.99.
