Apple to live stream upcoming iPhone event on YouTube
For the first time, Apple will live stream its upcoming ‘By innovation only’ event on YouTube, with the stream being promoted with a placeholder video on Apple’s official channel, inviting users to set a reminder to get a notification when the event begins.
This marks the first time that Apple has streamed an event live on YouTube, with events usually uploaded to the platform a few days after they happen, with Apple reserving the official live stream to viewers on Apple.com, or the Apple Events app on Apple TV.
Apple says: “Cupertino calling. Join us for an Apple special event live from the Steve Jobs Theater on September 10 at 10 a.m. PDT. Set a reminder and we’ll send an update before the show.”
The event is expected to see Apple unveil its next-generation iPhone line, including an iPhone XR predecessor rumored to add new color options, improved performance, a large camera upgrade, and more, with the flagship iPhone XS successor, dubbed the iPhone 11 Pro expected to gain an all-new rear triple-lens camera system, an updated volume button/switch design, a new frosted glass casing, and more.
Additionally, Apple is expected to unveil a Tile-like item tracker to help users locate missing items such as wallets, keys and bags.
