Apple replacing screens on select Aluminum Series 2 and 3 watches
Apple has launched a new screen replacement program for Series 2 and Series 3 Apple Watch models. The company states that “under very rare circumstances” a crack can form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminum Series 2 and Series 3 Apple Watch models, starting on one side of the screen and then continuing around it.
All aluminum Series 2 and 3 models are included in the repair program. A list is also available within Apple’s support document. Eligible owners can have their watch’s screen replaced free of charge from Apple themselves via mail-in repair or by visiting a retail store. Owners can also have their screen replaced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
The repair program will cover a user’s watch for three years after the first retail sale of the unit or one year from the start date of the program, whichever is longer.
